COVID-19 Vs Amazon Associates

The COVID-19 is now reckoned to be the world's obsession, collapsing each diversified system of human establishments and connections,  to were, enough resources and trading platforms are resorting to embellish the populace with medical products and health-care services that could dissolve this viral situation. Therefore, the free-market is tying its focus to promoting these products, thereby, leading to increased demand, prices will definitely follow suit. In light of this, one of the top-earning e-commerce network-Amazon decided to shift attention to advertising campaigns directed to this effect.



In a released statement, Amazon explained that:

"We are seeing increased online shopping and as a result, some products such as household staples and medical supplies are out of stock. 

With this in mind, we are temporarily prioritizing household staples, medical supplies, and other high-demand products coming into fulfillment centers so that we can more quickly receive, restock, and ship these products to customers.

For products other than these, we have temporarily disabled shipment creation. We are taking a similar approach with retail vendors."

The above is a clear indication of the recent sales routine adopted by major commercial enterprises. The demand for medical products and household items, such as anti-biotics, medical supplements for corona prevention, Sanitizers, and disinfectants respectively, have become extremely intense. For this purpose, Amazon is recruiting over 100,000 employees to assure that these demands don't become overwhelming on the billion-dollar co-operation.

Before the COVID-19 bruhaha, Yoga mats and Apple Air pods were listed among Amazon's top-selling products, within each individual niche.

The Google Trends graph proves the diminishing demands of Yoga mats and Apple Air pods and showcases an increased rate of household toiletries.  This dramatic change is pivotal to consumer's buying trends for the coming months if the COVID-19 obsession still persists.

What Does This Mean For Affiliate  Marketers?

There are a few possibilities that this current trend may affect the commissions earned from Amazon Associates because of the corona hype, especially for those whose niche is targeted around computing tools and software development, fashion, and fitness marketing. If Amazon is suspending the shipping of these products, then it would be a difficult situation for an affiliate marketer who usually, doesn't have an interest in promoting medical and household commodities.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has restricted public gatherings for the next few months, the demand trends created by this kind of restrictions may be precarious for both affiliate marketers and advertising sales income for online promoters, as well as Google Ads.
